Open Swift 3D

Click on the "T" (text) in the Main Toolbar

On the left hand side of the screen, below the Properties Tools Window, choose an interesting font

Select Center align

Highlight the word "text" in the Properties Tools Window

Type "Your First Name" (return) "Last Name"

Save as lnSpin.t3d

Click on the Front View, it should say "Front - Active"

Hold your Control + Cmd keys down and drag you mouse down to zoom out so that you can see your entire name

Click on your name in the front view to select it

In the Properties Tools Window, select "Bevels"

Style - Beveled, Depth - .040 then hit the Tab key, Face - Both, Smoothness - 1/4 to the left, Mesh Quality - Low

In the Properties Tools Window, select "Sizing"

Leave Width & Height at 1.000, Depth - change to .500 then hit the Tab key, leave Inter Character & Inter Line at 0.000

In the Properties Tools Window, select "Materials"

Select "All Faces"

Click the Materials Palette from the Gallery Tools Window (in the lower right hand corner)

Click on a color tab & drag a color to the sphere on the left hand side below the Properties Window

Select a different color for "All Bevels" & "All Edges"

Click the Animation Palette from the Gallery Tools Window (in the lower right hand corner)

Make sure your name is selected

Select an animation & Drag it to your name, you should see a faded green bar in the Animation Toolbar

Click the "Animate" button on the Main Toolbar.  This will highlight the time-line

Push the "play" arrow to see your animation

Make sure your name stays inside the viewing window.  If it does go off stage, Control>Drag to zoom out

Save

Select the "Preview and Export Editor" tab at the very top of your window

In the Preview Property Tools Window, make sure the Vector tab is highlighted

Preview Property Tools>General>Target File Type - Flash Player** (SWF)**, File Level - Flash 5, Detail Level - Automatic, Curve Fitting should be in the center, and check - Combine Edges and Fills

Preview Property Tools>Fill Options>Check - Fill Objects, Fill Type - Area Gradient Shading, and leave the next 3 boxes unchecked

Preview Property Tools>Edge Options>Leave the "Include Edges" box unchecked

Click the "Generate All Frames" button and let Swift 3D render all 19 frames

Click the "Export All Frames" button on the right side of the Preview window

Save as lnSpin.swf

Quit Swift 3D

Open Flash CS3

File>Import>Import To Stage>lnSpin.swf

Save as lnSpin.fla

Change stage size to 320 X 240 (click size field), white Background, Frame Rate 12 and click "OK"

Your name is probably too large for your stage now

Click the "Edit Multiple Frames" button

Click the area to the right of the layer name, this will select all the keyframes

Drag the Timeline Marker to include all the frames

Marquee over all objects to select them

If the Transform Window is not up, Window>Design Panels>Transform (Cmd+T)

Check "Constrain",  enter 75% & hit tab to apply, if your name fits on stage, drag to stage & center

Uncheck "Edit Multiple Frames", play animation

Select frame 1 & hit F5 11 times

Control>Loop Playback

Play Animation

Stop Animation

Save

File>Publish Settings

Formats tab: check Flash & HTML

Flash tab: Flash Player 9, Bottom Up, ActionScript 2.0, Compress Movie,  JPEG - 80%

HTML tab: Flash Only, Dimensions>Match Movie, Loop, Display Menu, High, Window, Default, Default, Center, Center, Show Warning Messages

Click the  "Publish" button, then click the "OK" Button

Save

Quit Flash

Integrate the .swf file into your final project for 10 Xtra Credit points.
